SUPER SIZING JARRETT BAY NOW OPERATING 137,000 SQ. FT. OF INDOOR REPAIR FACILITIES AS CONSTRUCTION AND SERVICE activities explode at Jarrett Bay Boatworks, the company has been continually acquiring facility space from neighboring tenants, recently adding an additional 12,000 sq. ft. indoor facility to the list of amenities offered at their 175-acre Marine Industrial Park in Beaufort, NC. With a 28-ft clearance entry door, this newest building will accommodate cabin installations of custom boats built by Jarrett Bay, as well as serve as an auxiliary location for overflow service projects. This acquisition marks the fourth parcel recently added to Jarrett Bay’s operations— now totalling nine buildings of 137,000 sq. ft. and spanning 37 acres. Previously, Jarrett Bay Boatworks added an ultra-modern, 30,000 sq. ft. indoor facility which most notably is capable of accommodating at least two 100-foot vessels side-by-side. This high bay fitting facility features a dual axis overhead crane which assists in topside and tower construction, often eliminating the need for cumbersome scaffolding around project vessels. Operated by remote control, the crane can easily and safely transport large assemblies of tower fittings, hardtops and more. Jarrett Bay’s Vice President, Tate Lawrence explains, “the overhead crane also helps to greatly increase speed, efficiency and safety as we manage projects simultaneously.” Adding to this operational efficiency is the convenience of three dedicated parts departments, prep and spray booths, Bausch American Towers, IMS American Electronics and Crystal Coast Interiors; all located within the same 30,000 sq. ft. building. Plans are also in the works to add a crew rest room and lounge with TV, internet, work spaces and a workout facility. President Randy Ramsey added, “Amid our ever-increasing new construction and service facility footprint, every Jarrett Bay boat and job will continue to represent the pride and passion of our team. Our management principals are committed to providing the cutting edge in technology to both our staff and customers. With these tools, we are excited to be able to share even more of our quality work each year with boaters of all shapes and sizes.” These new infrastructure acquisitions further demonstrate the strength of Jarrett Bay’s reputation and abilities for world- class new construction, service and refit work. With 75- 100- & 220-ton travel lifts, and over 1,000 feet of floating dock on the Intracoastal Waterway, Jarrett Bay’s Beaufort headquarters is truly capable of fulfilling nearly any marine service need. Gregory Poole Caterpillar had their service team poised to help and worked around the clock to help get them back out fishing. Lightning strikes can do a large variety of damage to a vessel. Magic Moment’s inability to restart their engines was due to the ECMs (engine control modules) being damaged, but other electronics like their VHF and DC system seemed to have survived relatively unscathed. The boat also sustained some serious damage to the generator systems, but Gregory Poole and the other teams of service providers were able to get the vitals repaired quickly enough for them to be out fishing again on Friday morning of the tournament. All of these stories are a great testament to Bluewater’s network of affiliates and the close-knit collaboration that occurs amongst support teams at Jarrett Bay’s Beaufort service yard.
