of these fine yachts, but they all had the opportunity to run the boats themselves to see first-hand why each of the models are widely considered best-in-class. Bluewater’s management is always highly appreciative of our sponsors for the annual cruise, as they demonstrate great commitment to our mutual customers by not only financially supporting the event, but also attending it. Participants enjoyed learning about best practices, products and services through seminars presented by Pettit Paints, Viking Life Saving Equipment and the Bluewater Network in a casual, conversational atmosphere. President Jan Boone, explains, “This small group environment proves to be a more comfortable setting than a hectic boat show or convention, allowing visitors to ask anything on their mind concerning technical specifications, financing, insurance andmuchmore. The opportunity to connect personallywith some of the marine industry’s most trusted vendors is certainly of great value to both us and our customers.” As Sunday morning dawned, everyone gathered on the dock for what was surely one of the highlights of the weekend. With Mimosas and Bloody Marys in hand, several couples and crews were ceremoniously welcomed into the Bluewater family. Each owner engaged the crowd with stories behind their boat’s name before the gathering culminated with the christenings of several vessels. Later that day when it came time to depart Somer’s Cove and say farewell to the weekend that was, many Bluewater customers, affiliates and friends heaped thanks on the Bluewater organizing committee and their gracious counterparts at Somer’s Cove Marina. Undoubtedly, many new relationships were forged during the weekend, and all the attendees had the opportunity to learn more about Bluewater’s brands and the latest in boat equipment, technology and services, all while soaking in the slower pace of life along the Eastern Shore. Boone adds, “Given all our hectic everyday schedules, it feels good to bring together a large variety of people to share in a relaxing weekend such as this. We do schedule a host of events, but we take care to offer a flexible schedule so everyone and their families can choose to enjoy exploring the sights, shopping and scenery of our destination each year.
