OnBoard Magazine - Issue XII - 2020 Season
I n winter 2019, Regulator Marine shook the boating community with the launch of a completely different kind of center console. The 26XO blended the performance and stability of their offshore models with the shallow-water capabilities commonly found in bay boats. Now, one year later, Regulator has introduced the newest edition to their XO fleet—the 24XO. Like her big sibling, the 24XO is built to conquer inshore waters with ease but also has the strength to endure offshore conditions. The 17° deadrise and 16-inch draft will allow this boat to go almost anywhere, and her 8-foot 5-inch beam will provide a solid ride when conditions get tough. The 24XO will come standard with a single Yamaha 250hp outboard, but if more power is a top concern, she can optionally be outfitted with a 300hp engine. While either option is sure to provide the performance that Regulator is known for, the 300hp package will get you going in a hurry. Performance reports show the boat’s top speed at a brisk 50 mph (43 knots), with a cruise at 26 mph (23 knots) at 3,500 rpm. Both engine options can be equipped with a hydraulic jackplate, and the 300hp model includes SeaStar Electronic Power Steering. This boat comes well-equipped with standard features including Regulator’s newly designed T-top with wraparound windshield, factory-installed Garmin electronics package, integrated swim platform and a stand-up console compartment. For those looking to entertain, the 24XO offers abundant seating with a flush folding rear cockpit bench, a console cooler seat, and an expansive forward-facing lounge with adjustable backrests. The console includes a leaning post with space below for a mounted cooler. She offers plenty of storage including a 189 quart in-deck fishbox, twin 190 quart. storage compartments under the forward seats, and rod storage under the port and starboard gunnels. Standard equipment includes a starboard side livewell, additional storage to port, and an aft bench that can be lifted to gain access to a clean and open bilge. POWER UP! In response to customer requests for more power, the 26XO now offers Yamaha’s most powerful outboard engine: the 425hp XTO Offshore. This engine option boosts the top speed by 10 mph, up to 55 (48 knots) with a cruise at 4,000 rpm and 33 mph (29 knots) returning 2 mpg.
