Viking Yachts punctuated the celebration of its 60th anniversary by announcing the all-new Viking 82 C. A second-generation model, this innovative vessel succeeds the highly acclaimed 80foot Convertible, a favorite among both customers and Viking’s own demo team. Thanks to advancements in fiberglass technology, the 82 achieves a remarkable feat: despite being two feet longer than its predecessor, it comes in at the same weight. Viking President and CEO Pat Healey pinpointed the 82’s advanced propulsion system as a key factor saying, “The one biggest thing we see that is going to make this boat special is the advanced propulsion system… to give us better performance.” Early projections are impressive, with a cruising speed of 36 knots and a top speed of 42 knots when equipped with the 2,635mhp MTU 16V-2000 M96L package. The Viking 82 will have increased space in the cockpit allowing for a larger mezzanine, more storage and more space for accessories. The flybridge can be configured as an open bridge, enclosed bridge, or skybridge and customized to an owner’s liking. Excitingly, hull number one is scheduled to be completed in time for Viking’s annual dealer meeting in June and will then be on display at multiple Mid-Atlantic events near you. This will include the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament in Morehead City, White Marlin Open in Ocean City, and Pirate’s Cove Billfish Tournament in Manteo, North Carolina; all of which are events Bluewater team members will be prepared to give qualified customers a first-hand look at this impressive new model!
