OnBoard Magazine - Summer 2015

Mustang survival suit, his snow-boarding gear and goggles and took the keys from Bluewater salesman Chris Hall IV in the middle of some of the wintriest conditions Eastern Virginia has experienced in years. “I wanted the boat bad, and kept hoping to get on some Rockfish before the season was up, it wasn’t pretty but the boat was still awesome.” The winter nasties finally gave way to spring and the Dunbar family already loves the ride. Well, except for Trigger. “ For Sale is going to have to take a gaff or rod butt or two to the deck before he gets a pass. Gotta keep the shine on as long as possible.” So until fishing season gets into high gear, you can find For Sale playing water taxi for the two-legged family members between the waters of the Lynnhaven and Rudee Inlets. REGULATOR 34 Length: 33’ 10” Beam: 10’ 11” Draft: 2’ 7” Displacement: 11,315 lbs. Fuel: 350 gal. Power: Triple Yamaha F300s FIRST IMPRESSIONS Jud Black “She comes out of the hole with absolutely no bow rise and runs exactly as one would expect from a Regulator deep V hull. This boat will eat up a chop, turn on a dime with no cavitation, and put a big grin on your face with over 62 mph top speed and easy 40+ mph cruise!“ Chris Hall, Jr. “Regulator owners now have the option to have the engines and bracket painted at the factory, so you can get a whole different look. Ryan took a great deal of care to build his 34 the way he wanted, including a sleek white powder-coat package on all the T-top tubing. Underwater lights, bow thruster, Flexiteek surfacing and air conditioning are all relatively new options that can take this ride to a whole different level.“ REGULATOR U: TIME FOR A REFRESHER For many outdoorsmen the Fall season is one of preparation, and at Regulator Marine it is the perfect time to host their annual Regulator University and dealer meeting. Think of it as an actual University complete with a syllabus, time spent in the classroom and a field trip to the production facility for some hands-on learning. Regulator University invites representatives from all of their dealers for a full day of training in the classroom and in the plant unveiling specific new model features and demonstrating the Regulator difference. Interestingly, the day of training concludes with a game of Jeopardy that is taken very seriously by the attending dealership representatives. Contestants play for Buddy Bucks (named after a family dog), Regulator’s own currency which can be redeemed 2:1 for merchandise or straight cash. Needless to say, this game stirs the competing salesmen into quite a frenzy! 19 SUMMER 2015
