OnBoard Magazine - Issue XII - 2020 Season

I n January 2020, the full Bluewater Yacht Sales team came together from across the Atlantic Coast for two days of training and team building in Raleigh, North Carolina. This get-together served as a way to bring final closure to the loss of our President Jan Boone, and work to establish new team members' roles and communication channels in support of our sales professionals and assistants. The activities began with a fun visit to PNC Bank Arena for a night of Carolina Hurricanes ice hockey, where our team took over the Champion’s Suite for a night of fellowship. Bluewater received a warm welcome from the Arena staff, who allowed our group to take to the ice for a company photo following the game. Even though our offices and team members are spread out over many locations, we enjoy assembling throughout the year to network and solidify our company and goals for continued success and growth. Day two of the meeting was conducted at the Stateview Hotel and was dedicated to reflecting on 2019, preparing for 2020, setting goals, and developing strategies to chart Bluewater's future. Presentations were delivered by new managers Wyatt Lane and Baxter Lusink, as well as the Bluewater partners. In the second half of 2019, Wyatt and Baxter were each able to spend individual time with team members from across our nine locations, however, this was their first opportunity to address the full team in person. Additional speakers at our annual meeting included Finance Manager Vera Sohovich, Marketing Manager Blake Tice, and Princess Yacht’s Ryan Fitchett. Our management, sales professionals, and support staff used this time together to explore the direction of the company, offer suggestions, give feedback, and build off the success experienced in 2019. We look forward to turning the page on 2019-20 and chartering a course of growth for not only our company, but our team members and customers as individuals. As is our tradition, our annual meeting culminated with an awards banquet. This year we recognized Clark Sneed for earning the Top Overall Sales Award, Top Brokerage Sales Award, and the Paramount Achievement Award. Chuck Meyers and Scott James both took home Paramount Achievement Awards, with Scott also winning the Top Gun Brokerage Award for most units sold. Chris Hall, Jr. and Jud Black each won the Ovation Award, and Chris also earned the award for Top New Boat Sales. Sales Professionals Bob Hoste, Daryl Brower, Mark Connors, and Scott MacDonald were presented awards for Sales Achievement, and David Black received the new Top Finance Producer award. We are immensely proud of our team’s achievements, and look forward to building on that success in 2020—no matter the odds! BLUEWATER’S ANNUAL MEETING AND NEW MANAGEMENT TEAM NEW IN THE NEW YEAR Clark Sneed earned the Top Overall Sales Award WELCOMING OUR NEW MANAGERS The diverse Bluewater team enjoys a good challenge. From partners and management to sales and support, our team thrives on creating memorable experiences for our customers throughout their boating adventures. We recently faced one of our biggest challenges with the passing of long-time President and dear friend, Jan Boone. The void left by her leadership and immense work ethic will be hard to fill, but we've been working hard to do so. The Bluewater partners launched a search that identified two new leaders to add to our management team in Jan's stead. Baxter Lusink has joined as Sales Manager and Wyatt Lane returned to Bluewater as General Manager. Wyatt Lane General Manager • 20 year industry veteran • Extensive manufacturing, sales & marketing knowledge • Passionate for the boating lifestyle Baxter Lusink Sales Manager • Lifetime in marine sales • Management experience in dealer & manufacturer roles • Avid fisherman & national champion stock outboard boat racer 25 2020 SEASON
