Dan Reitz

Dan Reitz is a Partner in Bluewater Yacht Sales and is primarily responsible for overseeing the company’s strategic planning and financial matters. Dan and Randy Ramsey founded Jarrett Bay Yacht Sales in April 2003. They owned and managed JBYS for almost a decade prior to merging their company with Bluewater Yacht Sales in October 2012.

Prior to entering the marine industry, Dan was co-owner and CFO of Big Rock Sports, a national group of wholesalers of fishing tackle and hunting equipment. He was previously President of Avis Enterprises, a private holding company owned by Warren Avis, founder of Avis Rent-A-Car. Dan is a long-time member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA).

Dan has held leadership positions with the American Sportfishing Association, Carteret County Economic Development Council, and Carteret County Public School Foundation, among others. He enjoys boating, golf and travel, and is a passionate fan of the Michigan State Spartans.

Dan has two daughters. Jackie, an Attorney and Realtor, lives in Charlotte. Stephanie, a CPA, lives in New Bern with her husband, Rob. Dan’s beloved wife of thirty years, Tricia, passed away in October 2016, following a courageous year-long battle with stomach cancer. She was an extraordinarily kind and generous woman who is missed by all who knew her.
