As the son of a marine surveyor who never vacationed off the water, Harry Barritt has always been on or near the water. He attended East Tennessee State University on a full athletic scholarship, earning a BS in Education. Liebherr America, a large manufacturer of heavy equipment, was his next stop as a million dollar sales associate. In 1980, looking for a career change that would allow him to spend more time back on the water, he joined Bluewater Yacht Sales as a broker. And through the years, Harry has gained extensive experience with the sale of more than 250 new and used Hatteras, Viking and many other brands of yachts.

Harry’s passion for boating also led to his 30-plus year involvement with the Mariner’s Museum in Newport News, Virginia building Chesapeake deadrise boats, ranging from 35 to 54 feet in length. Following suit, Harry’s sales expertise lies with the trawler and “Downeast” classes of yachts, especially those with some local Chesapeake deadrise flavor. Harry’s knowledge of the industry, combined with the utmost in integrity and diligence, can be measured by the volume of repeat business he enjoys and the many boating friends he’s made along the way.

Harry is married to Susan, has four children and six grandchildren that live on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
