OnBoard Magazine - Issue XIV - 2022 Season

pounds dry, this boat will be far larger than anything else Valhalla has built. The new V-55 will also surpass specifications of any “mega console” currently available. The company’s new flagship has more beam, greater fuel capacity and is the largest center console withMichael Peters’ Stepped-V Ventilated Tunnel hull form. The V-55 features a dedicated spot in the structual stringer grid for a Seakeeper 9— the largest gyro stabilizer offered in a boat of this size. The V-55 is also the largest resin-infused center console of its kind. Valhalla’s partner, Mercury Marine played a part in the development of the V-55 thanks to their industry-leading 600 horsepower V12 outboards. The V-55 is designed to accommodate more power than ever before with standard quad Mercury V12s totaling 2,400hp and the option to add a fifth engine for an unbelievable 3,000 horsepower! A CLOSER LOOK The interior of the Valhalla V-55 will be unlike any other center console on the market. It will be appointed with a full galley, including cooktop, Corian countertop, stainless steel sink, microwave, refrigerator, and freezer. Akin to the salon of a Viking sportfish, there will also be an L-shaped sofa and dinette, enclosed head with separate shower, 6’ 10” of headroom and luxurious finishes throughout. Accommodations include a private master stateroom forward plus two large berths located aft of the galley and salon area for additional guests and crew. Major investments and innovation behind the scenes at Viking and Valhalla is what allows for the continuous development of new and improved models. The Viking Mullica facility, where Valhalla models from 33’ to 46’ are built, features 4 production lines in 104,000 square feet of buildings. Just 11 miles from the main Viking facility in New Gretna where the newV-55 is beingbuilt, ValhallaBoatworks benefits from Viking’s scale and in-house design and production capabilities. Viking now owns not one, but two 5-axis routers. These impressive mills are responsible for developing molds for items such as deck lids, one-piece hardtops and even assisted in development of the hull mold and stringer system for the new V-55. These production efficiencies and innovations have allowed Valhalla to build and deliver over 100 new boats in just three years, with nearly 100 more in the order books. Few requests or customizations are beyond the scope of the designers and engineers at Valhalla and Viking. If you can imagine it, they can make it a reality. But even so, a near-60foot center console with up to 3,000hp and yacht quality accommodations is already a dream come true for most of us—and a call to your Bluewater Sales Professional is all that stands in the way of making it your own! 25 2022 SEASON
