Details
“RUNNING ON EMPTY” is an incredible yacht that was designed by George Sutton and built by Dennis Schreibert. She was completed in 2013 and launched in 2014. Built for worldwide safe cruising she has much to offer her next owners. Her custom Schooner design affords her a beautiful elegance as she is noted by all who encounter her on her travels. The sail plan is designed for ease of handling from the large center cockpit. The cockpit and aft area are fully enclosed and offer wonderful vistas for those on board. Heading below from the companionway you will be impressed with her spaciousness and beautiful custom woodwork. The staterooms are forward and aft with the galley to starboard aft of the Salon. The head is located aft of the Salon to port and offers access to the walk in machinery room. “RUNNING ON EMPTY” is a very seaworthy comfortable Yacht that I have personally sailed for thousands of miles in all types of weather and sea conditions. She has been upgraded and professionally maintained over the years at the direction of a meticulous and knowledgeable owner. She shows very well and is in sail away condition. This is the only Custom 46’ Steel Schooner on the market now and is awaiting the change of command. (Recent Survey Performed by Edward Rowe and Associates available upon request).
Vessel Walkthrough
After boarding “RUNNING ON EMPTY” access to the center cockpit is from either port or starboard. The cockpit is very spacious with a center pedestal helm. Forward in the cockpit is the companionway that leads to the vessel's interior. Starting forward from the chain locker and moving aft. The forward cabin has a double berth to starboard with a hatch overhead and opening portals for ventilation. There is a hanging locker and good personal storage in this cabin. There is also a privacy door that provides access to the Salon.
Moving aft, the main saloon has a dinette to starboard with an L-shaped settee. To the port, there are captain’s chairs, and aft to port is the navigation station. Overhead hatches and opening portals provide good ventilation.
Moving aft, the galley is aft to starboard and located in the companionway leading to the Master Stateroom. It has all the amenities, including a good food prep area, lots of storage space, and a very large refrigerator and freezer. There is a door aft to allow access to the Master Stateroom.
The head is opposite the galley to port. A second door in the head allows access to the walk-in machinery room, which is home to the main engine and generator. This area also has a workbench and plenty of storage.
Aft of the galley is the private master cabin, which has a large berth with vanity and shower. Overhead hatches and opening portals offer great ventilation. The aft cabin has good storage, including a hanging locker and plenty of drawers.

Brokers Comments
I am fortunate to say that I have had the opportunity to own this beautiful boat. “Running On Empty” is a gorgeous example of a custom center cockpit and her bluewater capabilities have already been proven. The interior is beautiful with hand-fitted joinery of various woods and her gorgeous appearance whether at the dock or underway, will turn heads. A true, proven, and capable bluewater sailboat “Running On Empty” only needs your personal gear and she is ready for the next adventure. Since 2013 she has consistently had upgraded systems and all maintenance kept up. I have sailed her extensively to many destinations with thousands of safe trouble-free miles. She is the only Custom steel Schooner on the market currently and a must to see if you’re in the market for a sail away vessel.
