LOOS CHANGE – 45 CALIFORNIAN AFT CABIN

Loos Change is a comfortable 1990 Aft Cabin 45’ Californian motor yacht. If you are looking for a looper, a coastal cruiser, or a floating condo for under $150,000 you should view this two stateroom, two head motor yacht. She offers a large salon, large master stateroom with great storage, and great outdoor space on the aft deck. Loos Change shows well for her age, the interior Teak wood is in great condition. All the color touch screen electronics are operational, she has updated appliances in the galley and on the aft deck. The vessel comes with an electric davit. The current owners surveyed and purchased the vessel two years ago to do the Loop, unfortunately due to change of plans they have decided to offer Loos Change sale. AFT DECK AND BRIDGE:

The bridge on a 45 California is covered with a bimini top with side eisenglass curtains with zipper windows. The bridge has L-Shaped seating with storage, the upholstery shows well. At the helm are two comfortable Captain Chairs. The 45 has a well laid out helm. The rocker switches are in good condition. The gauges have been replaced and are also in good condition. You will see the Maxwell windless switch, control module for the working Jabsco search light along with the joystick for the side power bow thruster, the engine shifters and throttles with synchronizer. For electronics Loos Change offers a working color touch screen Raymarine, a working color Garmin GPS Echomap - Tri data ST 60, and a working color Raymarine hybrid touch with Radar, a Simrad AP20 autopilot and infrared FLIR, AIS Raymarine 350 transciever. For communications are an Icom VHF, and for entertainment you have a Fusion stereo. You will also be able to monitor the engine room via a camera that will be displayed on the Rohent screen.

Behind the helm and top side of the fiberglass top that covers the aft deck are two large cushions, converting the area into a place to lay and relax. You then step down the bridge steps to a large aft deck that is completely covered by the hardtop. Portside and starboard side are wood/plexiglass wing doors allowing access to the wide walkaround and to the foredeck. The vessel comes with aft deck furniture that consists of a large table with four chairs, two short tables, two folding chairs and a BBQ grill. The aft deck has a tile top wet bar with newer fridge with ice maker, sink and storage above and below it. You will notice a throw down carpet and a large storage container that accommodates the balanced polished spare props, some lines and loose items. You enter the salon through a lockable glass salon door.

MASTER STATEROOM AND GUEST BERTH:

If you are looking at this listing because you want to travel on the boat or maybe thinking of a liveaboard and storage is important to you, you will like this master stateroom, it has an abundance of storage for a 45’ boat.

The master is a full beam master. As you enter the room you will see two large mirror doors to your right that conceal a large cedar-lined hanging closet. Running down and along the port side are more teak doors that conceal smaller cupboards, lockers and pull out drawers. Both sides of the queen bed are small pullout drawers and night lights. Above the bed on the aft bulkhead is a large transom hatch.

To the starboard is a large lighted vanity mirror with stool and additional storage either side. You will see a couple more pullout drawers and forward of that is another hanging closet. Also on the forward bulkhead under the flat screen TV is another closet. The Master has its own head with commode and a stand-up stall shower bathtub, sink and cabinet. The stateroom and the head have solid privacy doors.

Forward in the vessel is a comfortable guest berth with the boat’s day head. The room has an inline bed, and pullout drawers under it. This berth also has decent storage with hull side shelf storage. Starboard side is a cedar-lined closet. There are two hull side port lights and one hatch in the ceiling. You access the day head through the forward berth. The head and berth have solid privacy doors. In the head is a stand-up stall shower, sink, medicine cabinet with mirror. The vessel’s bow thruster is under the sole in the berth along with two thruster batteries and battery charger.

GALLEY, DINETTE AND SALON:

Loos Change has a nice bright salon thanks to the large salon windows with curtains and the glass salon door, along with the windows forward above the dinette and galley. I would like to mention that the Teak wood throughout the vessel shows very well with no water stains. The salon has a carpet sole with a throw rug. In the salon there are two remote lazy boy style chairs with a table and lamp. Down the port side is hull side storage, behind the two salon chairs is the vessel’s electrical panel. The salon has good headroom and the headliner is shows well. The master stateroom is aft down a few steps.

When you enter the master on your left you pass the vessel’s isolator batteries, below that a storage closet. The central vac hoses are stored here, and you will also see the central vac hook up. The washer and dryer are on the opposite side *NOTE – the washer and dryer are inoperable.

Back in the salon there is a mirror on the aft starboard side bulkhead. The galley and dinette are forward from the salon and split the salon from the guest cabin and day head. The dinette is a U-shaped booth style dinette, and the upholstery is in good condition. Under the dining table and into the galley is a parquet sole. In the galley is a newer stand-up working fridge/freezer, the inside of the fridge/freezer looks good (no rust), there are two stainless steel sinks, pullout drawers and cupboard space. You will notice a newer GE Advantium convection/microwave oven. The dinette and galley have great interior natural light from the brow windows above.

ENGINE ROOM:

Access to the engine room is through the steps leading down into the galley. The freshwater cooled V8 3208 Caterpillars at 430 BHP are coupled up to MG twin discs transmissions that have 2” stainless steel shafts with 28X30 four-blade propellers. The Caterpillars are believed to have less than 3,000 hours on them. The boat’s batteries lay between the motors, secured in a battery box. The generator is a 12.5 fresh water-cooled Kohler with sound shield. Port and starboard side you will see fuel tanks, the vessel has three fuel tanks, the third is under the master bed. The fire suppression system is mounted overhead. The vessel has an oil change pump. The inverter is mounted on the bulkhead and is a Victron multiplus 3000W inverter charger. When the current owners purchased the vessel in March 2023, oil samples were pulled during the diesel survey and all the samples that were pulled came back with normal wear.

HULL AND DECK:

Starting at the bow, the pulpit is molded into the hull. On the bow is the vessel’s Maxwell Nillson windlass with a Rocna Vulcan 25KG galvanized anchor. A spare Fortress anchor is on the aft deck. The windlass has foot controls. The bow rail is a welded stainless-steel rail and in good condition with fender holders and fenders on both sides. Attached to the bow rail is a mounted Lifesling 2.

For easier boarding she comes with Marquipt boarding stairs that can be attached on both sides of the hull. The vessel has a wide walkaround with conveniently mounted safety grab rails. The exterior finish is above average condition for her age. The transom has an oversized swim platform. On the platform are steps to the aft deck, the shore power hookup and a beefy aluminum electrically-operated Butler davit system. The bottom of the boat was last painted in October 2023. The vessel rides on a solid fiberglass modified V hull.
