White Oak stem, keel, back bone, deadwood, horn timber, frames, floors and other structural members

Hull skin is a of strip-plank, wood-epoxy and fiberglass cloth composite construction.

Hull skin laminate schedule as follows: 1 1/8” square Spruce planking edge-nailed and epoxy glued bronze fastened and epoxy glued to 1” x 2” White Oak frames spaced 16” on center frames with an exterior skin of vacuum-bagged 10 oz. FRP cloth set in epoxy.

The hull skin is protected from minor impact when docking or rafting by a wood, FRP and epoxy rubbing strake capped by Bronze ½ oval chafe guard.

Decks, Cockpit and Pilothouse are constructed of ¾” marine plywood over solid wood structural members with vacuum-bagged 10-oz. FRP cloth set in epoxy.

Decks and Cabin Top are further over-laid with thoughtfully positioned Tread-Master non-skid decking surface.

All structural members and hull interiors are sealed in epoxy with painted finishes

Hull, Deck, Cockpit and Pilot Hose exteriors are a painted finish using Petit Unipoxy paints.

Hull colors are White topsides with a Black boot stripe at the water line and Gray bulwarks above the sheer.

Exterior finishes for the Decks, Cockpit and Pilot House are (for the most part) painted with the exception of toe rails, taff rail, cockpit coaming tops, cabin eye brows, hand rails and forward pilot house window trim which are varnished Teak.

Interior description is from bow to aft end of Pilot House.

Furthest forward below decks is the Chain Locker which can be accessed from the forward sleeping cabin by way of opening doors in the forward bulkhead.

Next aft is the Forward Sleeping Cabin with accommodations for two persons in a V-berth configuration, storage shelves above and outboard of the berthing platform and storage bins below.

Continuing aft one passes thru the Head Area which is to both port and starboard of the passageway leading aft to the Main Saloon.

To port / forward in the Head Area is a vanity / sink basin with hot and cold pressure water along with a hanging locker aft. To starboard is a Nature’s Head composting toilet and a separate stall shower with hot and cold pressure water. Privacy is afforded to the Head Area by way of doors forward (to Forward Cabin) and aft (to Main Saloon).

Next aft is the Main Saloon with settee seating / berths port and starboard and a drop leaf table on centerline.

Continuing aft one will find the Galley Areas to port and starboard with galley sink, Seaward gimbaled stove / oven and under counter storage to starboard and a large well-insulated, top-loading refrigerator (with Seafrost refrigeration) to port.

Up one step and aft one will enter the Pilot Hose which along with steering wheel, engine controls, electronics, etc. features unlimited berthing and seating  for the off-watch crew and a panoramic 360 degree view of the harbor and horizon.

Furthest aft is the companionway (3-step) ladder leading out to the cockpit.

With opening and fixed ports in the cabin sides, opening hatches in the cabin tops, dorade and solar vents and terrific views from the Pilot House Aura III has plenty of natural light and ventilation during daylight hours and when the sun goes down the interior spaces are nicely lit with all LED reading and overhead dome lights.
