2009 Sabre Salon Express

General Description

"Salvage" 2009 40 Salon Express powerd with 380 hp Cummins Zeus pods ran aground 2 years ago.. Wiithin hours of a grounding, the boat was towed to a nearby marina where she was hauled the same day. This vessel reportedly had a grounding and knocked one the pods off and partially just sunk before entering the slings of the travel lift.  The heads have been removed and engines the have been pickled but will most likely need to be rebuilt. One Zeus pod is still availabe and is intact, but has been removed for transport. There was very little water damage to her wood work as she was only sumerged for such a short amount of time. Drawers and hatches were opened and a dehumidier was run for weeks after the accident. This is a great opportunity for someone with a mechanical skill set willing to take on a project such as this and have a great boat in the end. The seller has factored into the price of new power and electrical if he or she wishes to go with complete new engines and systems versus rebuilding some of the mechanical. Garmin electronics inclduing the radar and some electrical systems still function. Someone suggested it might be time to consult a naval architect add a bracket and try outboards!
