    General Description

    Ms. Reilly

Originally built for the author of The Cruising Guide to the New England Coat (Roger Duncan) in 1961 by Reed’s Shipyard of Boothbay Harbor (ME) Ms. Reilly has spent the last 20 or so years under the current ownership day sailing off the Low Country of South Carolina.

Knowing how they would be using this Sam Crocker schooner (mostly day sailing) upon purchase in 2004 her owners commissioned Crockers Boat Yard of Manchester (MA) to put her in good working order with bottom re-planked, a new Edson worm gear steering system, new teak decks and a major reconfiguration of the deck house and cockpit that shortened up the cabin house and greatly increased the size of her cockpit to reflect her new principle use as a fast day sailor capable of carrying a crowd of family and friends.

Since that time Ms. Reilly’s owners have kept her in great shape paying attention to annual maintenance tasks and making the occasional upgrade or new equipment installations to keep up with the times with new Nat Wilson Sails in 2014, the addition of a cockpit Bimini and other such projects and purchases.

Most recently (2022-2023), Ms. Reilly has had a major systems over haul with new engine and drive train, new fuel systems, new electronics and new electrical system installed.

With all this work done Ms. Reilly is more than ready for at least another half-century of providing her next owners with many days of fun fast sailing and continuing to turn heads wherever she may roam.
