General Description

Adventure Awaits!

From the legendary drawing board of Bob Perry, the Tashiba 36 is a yacht of incredible pedigree, exceptional build and design quality, and one any serious sailor would be overjoyed to own and sail. She has a classic canoe-stern clinker-style fiberglass hull, full keel, cutter rig, and features the top-level teak joinery down below for which the Ta Shing boatyard is world-renowned.

Blake Erie II has spent her entire life on the Great Lakes, save for a couple cruising seasons on the Chesapeake. Originally delivered new to her first owner in the upper Great Lakes, she was listed with RCR Yachts and sold to her current owner and has been in Lake Erie ever since. We proudly know the history and lineage of this boat and are as excited to represent her as you will be having her at your dock.

On deck she features a cutter rig with dual Harken furlers, in-mast furling, and newer (2023) Ullman Carbon sails with very little use. A manual chain windlass inside the staysail provides trouble-free anchor control with dual rollers. Her teak decks are well-maintained and 6" bulwark surrounding the entire deck provides safe, secure footing in all weather conditions. Teak handrails line her coachroof, and stainless tubing surrounds the dual forward dorade vents to provive plenty of handholds while working on deck. Additionally, the mast is flanked port and starboard with thick stainless mast pulpits that are gently curved to cradle you securely while working at the mast. As you move aft, a teak boom gallows on stainless steel legs stands forward of the dodger and carries the ship's bell. Entering the horseshoe-shaped cockpit, you are enveloped in a secure, comfortable seating area with a center collapsible wheel helm. Here a large color Raymarine plotter aids navigation and a remote station VHF microphone and autopilot control are within easy reach. Attention to detail is evident everywhere on this boat, and the teak cockpit seats are no exception. Each opens to provide deep storage so that deck items can remain on deck, keeping the cabin neat and tidy. Dodger, bimini, and connector enhance the weather protection, and a teak stern perch that overhangs the water will be the grand prize in the seating sweepstakes!

If her on-deck looks are not impressive enough, stepping below will be a transformative experience. Gorgeous teak joinery of unmatched quality is everywhere, featuring complex curvatures and beautiful grain patterns, but without being too dark to maintain an open feeling. Handholds are everywhere, further enhancing the importance of safety. Thirteen opening ports, cast in bronze, are found throughout the cabin, and the leaded glass cathedral-style skylight in the center of the main salon lets in gobs of light and fresh air. The chart table is amply sized, has storage underneath, and features a duplicate Raymarine plotter. A pilot berth aft of the chart table provides cozy off-watch comfort and access to ship's batteries and electrical junctions.

To port, the galley is large enough to be functional but small enough to provide security while preparing meals underway. Featuring a large dual-access top-entry refrigerator/freezer, three-burner propane range on gimbals, and dual deep stainless sinks with contemporary fixtures, the galley has everything you need. Plus, the joinery work here is mesmerizing in its detail!

The main salon is comfortable and open, with seating around a large offset table. Upholstery is comfortable and of high quality. Louvered teak storage cabinets surround the main salon, and both direct and indirect lighting options abound. Moving forward, the head features a marble countertop, manual head, and a separate shower. Adjacent to the head is the forward cabin, with three opening bronze portlights and a large overhead opening hatch. There is plenty of light here, and the counterbalance of rich teak surroundings adds comfort. During the colder seasons, interior heat is provided by an Espar-style diesel heating system with ductwork routed throughout the cabin for efficient off-grid comfort.
