Meet “Apogee”

Every once in a while, a yacht comes to market that tells a story long before you step aboard.

APOGEE is one of those yachts. Her story is one of meticulous ownership, continual improvement, and 9,000 miles of offshore adventure.

Launched in the summer of 2023, APOGEE was carefully commissioned and continually refined by an owner whose engineering background and attention to detail are immediately evident throughout the vessel. Rather than simply using the boat, he approached ownership with the mindset of understanding, improving, and optimizing every system onboard. The result is a performance catamaran that feels exceptionally well sorted, thoughtfully upgraded, and fully prepared for serious offshore cruising. She IS the definition of CLEAN! 

Over the course of nearly 9,000 nautical miles, including an Atlantic crossing, APOGEE has proven herself exactly as intended. She has been sailed, maintained, and upgraded by owners who believed in using the boat while continually investing in her. From the upgraded electrical systems and sail inventory (stored in climate controlled lofts when not in use) to the extensive onboard spares package, every decision was made with reliability, redundancy, and long-term cruising in mind.

Perhaps the strongest endorsement of APOGEE, however, is not just found in her specifications or equipment list. It is found in the owners’ next decision.

After their experience aboard this Balance 482, they have chosen to remain within the Balance family and have committed to a new build Balance 540. For me, there is perhaps no stronger testament to the design, performance, and ownership experience that Balance Catamarans delivers.
