Broker's Notes

I'm more than just the listing broker for Hawkeye. Since the fall of 2022, I have been entrusted by her owner to care for and maintain this beautiful boat as if she were mine. Over the past three years, I have gained an intimate knowledge of every onboard system and have had the honor and privilege to sail Hawkeye in a variety of conditions. I can confidently say she represents the very best of what this respected builder set out to achieve- bluewater capability, practical design, and true liveaboard comfort.

This particular 439 has been meticulously cared for, not just as a vessel, but as a trusted partner in adventure. Every system has been thoughtfully maintained, and many options reflect real-world cruising experience rather than dockside wishlists. From the robust rigging and easily managed sail plan to the spacious, light-filled interior, she strikes a perfect balance between performance and livability. The engine room is clean and accessible, and every locker tells the story of smart ownership and time at sea.

Although she never strayed more than 50 nautical miles from her her berth in St. Petersburg, Hawkeye is fully-equipped for passagemaking and is ready for the next adventure. Whether you're planning offshore passages or looking for a safe, proven platform to explore coastal waters in comfort, this 439 stands out. Sail and Rigging

• Solent rig provides a sailplan for all conditions: for light-air sailing, the 150 reacher and full main work best. As the wind freshens, furl the reacher and switch to the self-tacking jib.
• In-mast furling main. No need to mess with a stack pack or lazy jacks. Plus- reefing is done at the push of a button, from the safety of the cockpit!
• All-electric furling (jib & reacher) with Selden synchronized mainsail
• Upgraded Quantum Carbon sails
• Rigid boom vang with Harken deck hardware and traveler system
• Power primary & cabin top winches- Hawkeye has mint-condition winch handles that have never been used.

Hull and Deck

This Island Packet model continues the innovation of the next generation Island Packet that started with the IP 349. The larger 439 offers even more choices and customization options while maintaining the excellence, quality and safety features the Island Packet Brand is famous for. We are committed to building YOUR boat to meet YOUR cruising and sailing needs. She features 2 staterooms with en suite heads and stall showers. The master stateroom has an island berth with customizable storage and/or seating options on the port side.

There is also a large aft walk-in area that can serve as a 3rd stateroom, a workshop/storage area or even an extended galley pantry. The port side salon can also be configured to your needs. A few examples include:  two captain chairs, full settee, navigation station and/or additional storage. You can choose the Solent or Cutter rig design, hard and soft good colors/textures and interior wood materials. So get creative and the Island Packet Design Team will work with you to build YOUR Island Packet.
