My wife and I met Matthew at the 2017 Annapolis Boat Show aboard a Cruisers Yachts motor yacht. It was our first contact with him. As any good salesperson would do, he introduced himself to us and asked what we thought of the boat. As we talked a while, he inquired as to what type of boat we were interested in and whether we currently owned a boat. He focused on learning about us and what type of boating we did. We felt no pressure and were comfortable with his genuine approach as we talked about boating in general and this motor yacht specifically. He shared that his wife was also in the boat sales business and they had lived on a sailboat. I had lived on a power boat for several years. We finally concluded that although a great boat, a motor yacht was not for us.  We were not seriously ready to purchase and we had no plans to get rid of our current boat. We finally thanked him for his time and departed feeling like we had made a new friend.


My wife and I had the good fortune to run into Matthew again in January at the 2018 Baltimore Boat Show. Matthew was on a Cruisers Yachts 338 Bowrider and invited us aboard. It was like we had run into an old friend and we picked up where we left off at the Annapolis Boat Show. He showed us the boat from bow to stern. I sat there for an hour in disbelief that this boat met our every need. We again reiterated that we were not seriously ready to purchase and we had no plans to get rid of our current boat. Matthew explained that he was there to assist if we needed him but no pressure. We thanked him again and departed. As we looked at other boats in the show, I asked my wife what boat was her favorite. She said the Cruisers 338 and I said it was mine too. She said let’s go back to talk to Matthew and the rest is history.  We took delivery in April 2018. What convinced us to proceed with the purchase was not soley that we liked the boat but that we also liked Matthew. He was personable and pleasant without being high pressure. He was attentive and thorough throughout the whole process and he went above and beyond to make sure things moved smoothly from contract and trade-in acceptance, sea trial, financing, settlement and captain’s orientation. He exemplifies great customer service and we highly recommend him.
