Our proximity to Regulator headquarters in Edenton, NC, helps facilitate our team’s in-depth knowledge of the products. Bluewater team members often visit the factory for training opportunities and to periodically oversee the construction of customer vessels. Leading customers on a factory tour to learn more about the details of their boat’s construction and help consider options is one of the most fulfilling parts of being a new boat specialist.

It’s Business & Personal
In addition to that big investment, at least six members of our sales team currently own new Regulators of their own, which adds greatly to their hands-on experience and intimate knowledge of the brand and specific models, throughout our Regulator territories in Maryland, Virginia and parts of North Carolina.
General Manager Wyatt Lane, who spent a large chunk of his career working directly for Regulator, is another huge asset in Bluewater’s stable of brand specialists.
“Bluewater and Regulator have always enjoyed a strong relationship,” he explains. “Thinking back twenty-five years ago, there were originally six or seven brokers who all had Regulators and enjoyed sharing their experiences on them with their friends and customers.”
What are some of our Regulator brand experts running in their free time? The 26XO is currently the most popular for the boat’s versatility both offshore and inshore, with a 25, 26 and 34 rounding out the recent boats they’ve enjoyed owning personally.
These high-quality center consoles are always in great demand, but whenever availability allows, the team works to show them off throughout our various territories and featured events. “Regulator Rallies” in Maryland and Virginia have also helped facilitate our ambassador program over the past few years.
On the Water in Wanchese
In August of 2024, several new Regulator models were brought to Safe Harbor Outer Banks in Wanchese, NC for demo rides during the Pirate’s Cove Billfish Tournament. Small groups of VIPs were given the opportunity to demo-ride a beautiful new 34, 31 and 30XO near Oregon Inlet. Along with an opportunity for rides on Pamlico Sound that day, attendees enjoyed the relaxed vibes at our Wanchese office. This is a “chill destination”—with a transom-shaped tiki bar and billfish on the wall—taking shape thanks to Bluewater Sales Professional and career character Bob “Bob-O” Hoste.
The Demo Day included a live band and catered food at the tiki bar, where VIP customers, Bluewater Professionals and several experts from Regulator Marine all convened to enjoy the hospitality. Keith Ammons, David Clubbs, and Drew Halford, all senior management from Regulator Marine, were on-hand to help demonstrate the boats and enjoy the camaraderie. Even our old friend, Al Partin (a retired Regulator manager), and his wife Lynn were able to join us to share their love of these exceptional boats and lifestyle. The gathering was a legitimate brain trust of expertise and an exhibit of the lifelong Regulator-Bluewater partnership.

Bluewater has sold an average of 18 Regulator boats per year, totaling approximately 450 new center consoles delivered throughout Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina.
