What to know about the all-new Regulator 28
Regulator makes major model year changes to a popular offshore model
Some big changes are coming for the Regulator 28 offshore center console beginning in the 2026 model year. The next generation Regulator 28 will look quite similar to the previous offerings, but under the surface the model will have multiple innovative additions and modernizations. Some of the new features, such as the inclusion of Seakeeper Ride automatic trim tabs, were already adapted late in 2025, while other features are fresh for the new model year. Here are some things that you can expect to see starting this Fall:
Numerous Standard Features
Regulator is known for loading their boats with standard features instead of lengthy lists of options. The standard updates to the Regulator 28 are going to give the boat more power, an even better ride, and some of the top attributes that customers have been asking for.

- The 28 will come standard with a pair of 350hp Yamaha engines, a 100hp upgrade from the previous model. This will give the boat a slight performance advantage and improved range.
- Seakeeper Ride trim tabs will come standard, giving the boat a solid, predictable ride without the need for constant adjustment.
- A new deck cap design will provide a more defined toe rail and space to include an expanded anchor locker and washdown.
- Forward seating cushions will be held down with magnets, taking the hassle out of placing and removing forward seats.
- An improved fiberglass t-top will now include integrated grab rails, a new forward vent, and superior drainage.
Options to Elevate
In addition to the standard features that will be offered on every new 28, there will also be some innovative options available to elevate the look and feel of the new model.
- The standard tackle center can be modified to include a cushioned Yeti cooler, which slides out to provide extra seating and more cooler storage.
- Dual pressurized livewells can be added to the transom, replacing the standard fishbox and livewell configuration. The dual livewells will come with acrylic lids and a self-cleaning and macerated sea chest.
- Add a touch of class with the new teak package, which offers teak ladder-back helm chairs and teak armrests to the helm and forward console seat.
- Customize the look of the boat with the black power coat option, or alter the upholstery to the sandbar color package.
- LED lightbars can now be added to the port and starboard of the boat.
- All of these options are in addition to many of the previously offered options available on the Regulator 28.
